Researchers at Emory University and Georgia Tech have developed a patch with hundreds of microscopic needles that dissolve into the skin, making it possible to painlessly self-administer vaccines. Because they’re a piece of cake to apply and safe to dispose, the patches could simplify large-scale immunization programs in developing nations.
