A daily half cup of coffee or tea could lower the risk for a type of brain tumor by 34 percent, according to recent research. A study lead by a Brown University professor followed more than 410,000 people from nine countries for more than 8.5 years. Research subjects answered surveys about their coffee and tea consumption and shared medical records with cancer diagnoses. The study found that daily consumption of 100 mL or more coffee or tea was associated with a lower risk for glioma, a type of brain tumor.
